when my husband and i got married (back in the dark ages), we kept our names. the next january when we filed our income taxes, i got a rather condescending letter from the state office telling me that i'd written my own name wrong on our form (i.e., i wrote my own last name rather than his). when i wrote back to tell them that i hadn't changed my name, they asked me to prove it.

it was sort of bizarre, having to prove you didn't do something, but there you have it.

switching gears, karl is getting all kinds of positive interest in the early peeks at his star trek role. BEWARE OF SPOILERS AT THESE LINKS. i just can't wait to see this movie, and i don't care if anyone but bones and nero are in it. perhaps there could be kissing, too. kissing would be fine, yes. ;)
